Fullstack engineer at Holistics, Ho Chi Minh City

I’m Tuan. I write software, mostly for the web.

These days I work on the Holistics CLI and the compiler behind it, so that AI agents get a clear error instead of a broken query. Before that I did monitoring and CI work at Zalora, built a C++ chat app at Endava, and published a few papers on AI image generation while I was at university.

What I work on

I’ve done a bit of everything below. The parts I like most are the ones that touch more than one layer.

Fullstack web apps

Frontend and the APIs behind it. Lately that’s been Vue and TypeScript, with Ruby and Go on the server side.

  • Vue
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Ruby
  • Node
  • Go

DevOps and CI/CD

Pipelines, dashboards, deployments. I’ve migrated a CI system and a monitoring stack at previous jobs, so I have a decent idea of where these things break.

  • GitHub Actions
  • GitLab CI
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana

Backend and systems

Services in Go and C++, Linux networking, queues and databases. Also compilers and language tooling, which is most of my day job now.

  • Go
  • C++
  • Linux
  • RabbitMQ
  • MySQL
  • MongoDB

AI integration

Adding LLM features and agent tooling to a product. I’ve also done research on image generation, so I have some sense of what these models can and can’t do.

  • Python
  • AI agents
  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • RAG

Where I’ve worked

Three roles so far, two of them internships. A lot of the work has been the less visible kind: logging, monitoring, tests, release pipelines. I’ve come to like that side of things.

  1. – present

    Fullstack Software Engineer

    Holistics Data

    • Added static validation and type-checking for AQL to the CLI, so AI agents get errors before a query runs.
    • Added structured logging with rotation to the CLI.
    • Built the markdown system behind the docs, with custom syntax and interactive components.
    • TypeScript
    • Ruby
    • Vue.js
    • Compiler and language tooling
  2. –

    Software Engineer Intern

    Endava

    • Built a real-time chat app in C++ on Linux, on a team of seven.
    • Wrote the networking layer and set up the GitLab CI pipeline.
    • Deployed it on Kubernetes with a standby instance for failover.
    • C++
    • Linux networking
    • GitLab CI
    • Kubernetes
  3. –

    Software Engineer Intern

    Zalora Group

    • Migrated monitoring from Graphite to Prometheus: 10 modules and 70 Grafana dashboards, with two interns I was mentoring.
    • Moved CI/CD from CircleCI to GitHub Actions and added integration tests.
    • Wrote n8n automations for returns, stock audits, and partner notifications.
    • Put payment logs in one place and built an admin page for tracking down failures.
    • Prometheus
    • Grafana
    • GitHub Actions
    • n8n
    • PHP

Papers and school

I studied computer science at the University of Science in Ho Chi Minh City and did research on AI image generation on the side. Three of those projects got published.

BSc Computer Science, 2022–2026

Honors Program
